Lastly, we offer our full support to Twitch’s black, queer, and disabled creators amid their calls for stronger safety measures. Targeted hate raids have unfortunately always been part of being a marginalized creator on Twitch, but they’ve increased in the past few weeks following RekItRaven’s #TwitchDoBetter campaign. Twitch as a platform benefits from the hard work of marginalized creators, and not meeting their needs is unconscionable.
Check out this article from The Verge on how creators have taken efforts into their own hands and sign this Change.org petition calling for Twitch to introduce a number of safety measures to protect streamers from hate raids.
